Advocacy Invitation

Hello Future WSHIMA Activists,

Please consider joining one of the workgroups below. I have a couple of asks from you if you decide to join one of the work groups.

  1. Let me know you have joined the workgroup.
  2. Email me so we can talk about what the workgroup decided so we can share with our members.

The AHIMA Policy & Government Affairs team will be holding three work groups across May and June. Each work group will focus on one of the three proposed rules released by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in April. We have included links to AHIMA cheat sheets, with the dates for the working groups.

Interested parties should contact the Policy & Government Affairs team at advocacy@ahima.org to secure their place in the workgroup. The more members who participate, the better our comment responses will be. We welcome all participants, no level of prior knowledge or expertise is required.

Available Work Groups include:

  • CMS: FY24 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Proposed Rule
  • ONC: Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability: Certification Program Updates, Algorithm Transparency, and Information Sharing (HTI-1) Proposed Rule
  • OCR: HIPAA Privacy Rule to Support Reproductive Health Care Privacy Proposed Rule
