Advocacy Request

April 9, 2024

Good Morning WSHIMA Members,

We are a quarter of the way through 2024 and that means it is time for the first update on where each state stands in the rankings for the 2024 Advocacy Award.

In first, second, and third place we have:

  1. Alaska, with 0.566 points per member
  2. North Dakota, with 0.550 points per member
  3. Delaware, with 0.450 points per member

Please consult the attached document for the rest of the rankings. There is still plenty of time to earn more points for 2024 and rise in the rankings! If you haven’t already, I encourage you to participate in the MATCH IT Act campaigns in the AHIMA Action Center. Participating in campaigns is one of the easiest ways to earn points for your state.

Additionally, the deadline to sign the letter asking for the repeal of Section 510 for the FY25 budget has been extended to April 9th. Please ask your organizations and CAs to consider signing on using this Google form. Just a reminder, this sign-on letter can be completed by organizations and CAs, but individuals are not eligible to sign on.

Thank you everyone for all of your hard work pushing the AHIMA advocacy agenda forward!

Kimberly Lee, (she/her/hers) M.Ed., RHIA, CCS-P
