Apply Now for Fall HIM-BAS Program at TCC — Offered Fully Online!

Looking to advance in your career? Now’s the time to apply for Fall 2020 admission to the Health Information Management Bachelor of Applied Science degree program (HIM BAS) at Tacoma Community College.

The two-year degree program begins each fall. It is the only fully online HIM BAS program in Washington State.

“Our program is geared towards working professionals who already have their associate’s degree,” said Corinne Jarvis, M.Ed., RHIA, CHDA, manager of TCC’s HIM program. “Courses are taught 100 percent online. Community college tuition rates make this an affordable option for those wanting to attain their bachelor’s degree and RHIA credential.”

The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Coursework spans clinical knowledge, management and finance skills, data analysis, information technology, health law and more. Graduates are eligible to sit for the RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) national certification exam.

“With the HIM-BAS degree and the RHIA credential, graduates can look forward to more career options and salary increases,” said Jarvis.  “There is continued high demand in the marketplace for health information professionals.”

Interested students should apply for admission as soon as possible, said Jarvis, as spots for the fall 2020 cohort are filling quickly.

“We welcome inquiries and work with each individual to accommodate their needs and interests,” said Jarvis.
