What KVH expects from you…
The Director – Health Information Management is responsible for managing the daily operations of HIM. This position is primarily responsible for designing and overseeing health information systems and procedures for the distribution and use of health information throughout the organization to ensure that they meet medical, legal and ethical standards. Responsible for the collection and analyzing of patient data, ensuring accuracy of patient records, ensuring privacy of patient records, as well as managing and maintaining databases and generating and analyzing reports. Reviews coding performance, documentation, as well as develops, coordinates and manages implementation of policies and procedures that promote best practices to improve and support revenue cycle. Also serves as Privacy Officer and oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the organization’s information privacy practices.
- Five years in HIM-related position, with three years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with the electronic health record, health information systems and healthcare applications
- Degree in Health Information Management
- RHIA or RHIT Certification
