TCC’s Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program provides a pathway for graduates of associate degree programs to attain a baccalaureate-level education in the dynamic Health Information Management (HIM) field. The program is accredited by CAHIIM and graduates are eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credentialing exam.

Building on the long-standing success of TCC’s Health Information Technology program, the HIM Applied Baccalaureate degree is offered completely online. This provides the opportunity for convenience and flexibility for students who need to balance work and family commitments while providing an excellent, affordable educational opportunity.

WGU-Washington offers continuous monthly enrollment and a self-paced competency-based model, meaning we give credit only when a student shows competency through getting a “B” or better on an exam or assignment, rather than hours spent in a classroom. All classes are online, so we can offer tuition that is considerably less than brick-and-mortar universities and our students frequently maintain employment that further reduces the financial burden of obtaining a degree. Target population is:

  • IT professionals who wish to work in the healthcare environment;
  • Allied health professionals interested in working with information systems and learning how health information can be shared with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Current health information management professionals who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills in using information systems to manage health information.
