Responsible for day-to-day supervision of 15 person coding staff. Ensures accurate and compliant coding of facility fees for SCCA. This includes tracking, reporting and training regarding documentation. This position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of coding training/ educational materials. The Medical Coder Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of QA protocols and processes.
Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent
Certified RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, OR COC.
3-5 years of facility experience in coding, compliance and billing. A minimum of 2 years lead coding experience.
Experience in claims management, denials, and appeal processes. Experience with EPIC HB and 3M encoder. Experience in academic health care coding and compliance auditing. 4 years, plus prior ICD-9 and CPT coding experience in outpatient clinic setting. Prefer: prior oncology coding, training experience with clinicians, E&M coding and transplant coding. A minimum of 1 year supervisory/management experience.
